The group is privately owned and was founded in 1979 in Brisbane.

Finlay are the exclusive dealers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Papua New Guinea for Terex Finlay, Terex Ecotec and Pilot Crushtec.
